This game was at the pinnacle of driving games when it first came out. with damage physics, adjustable cars, and responsive AI, Sierra's Nascar Racing was the game to get when it came to stock car racing. Most unique to the game was the "Paintkit," a separate program which allowed users to customize their car's paint and logos. Thanks to games like this, "skinning" has become a popular add-on to many racing sims (LiveForSpeed, Forza1-2, NFS, rFactor, etc...) This is the granddaddy of them all, and it really shows. Most people that are new to the game will probably not enjoy it. The graphics are lack-luster for todays standards, the physics, although nice, aren't accurate, and the whole package comes off grainy and pixelated. -BUT- For the enthusiast who grew up playing videogames around when this gem came out, they'll find a nostalgic love for the game's simple qualities and and will most likely fall into "reminiscing" about the good old days when games were simple and fun. The price was right on this one and I'm really glad to have this game back in my collection of retro classics, sitting next to Transport Tycoon and XCOM.Read full review
